Why the 2025 Renault Espace Still Will Not Come to the UK – And What You Are Missing
Renault is back with a refreshed version of the Espace, and while the updates are rolling out across Europe, the United Kingdom will not be seeing this seven-seater return anytime soon. Renault officially confirmed that the Espace still will not be making a comeback to the United Kingdom market, where it has been absent since 2012.
This facelift comes just two years after the Espace was reinvented as a sport utility vehicle for its sixth generation. Now, it shows off a sleek new Baltic Blue Grey exterior, featuring updated lighting similar to the Rafale and a brand-new grille with a diamond-inspired design. There are also sharper rear lights that Renault says are inspired by tangram puzzles, plus new bonnet and tailgate designs.
Built on the same platform as the Austral and Rafale, the updated Espace keeps its strong family resemblance. Under the hood, it is powered by a 197 horsepower hybrid powertrain and offers the added benefit of four-wheel steering. This tech helps cut the turning circle from 11.6 to 10.4 meters, making city driving and tight turns much easier. Renault has also reprogrammed the gearbox for smoother shifts and quicker responses.
Inside, you will find more supportive front seats, new upholstery, and enhanced sound insulation. The star of the interior, though, is the massive 1.7 meter by 1.13 meter Solarbay panoramic roof, which can be turned opaque in segments either by voice command or at the press of a button. A new camera in the A-pillar now recognizes the driver and loads personal settings like seat position, radio station, and favorite Google apps.
Three trims will be available: Techno, Esprit Alpine, and Iconic. And yes, a convertible version is in the pipeline.
