Porsche Racing Mark Webber Highlights – Video
Mark Webber announced that he will walking away from competitive racing at the end of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship season. The Australian driver announced his retirement earlier this morning. While Webber will stop racing for Porsche, he will continue to represent the German automaker at events and will act as a consultant for its motorsport program.
The 40-year old Webber retired from Formula One with 215 Grand Prix stars and nine victories under his belt at the end of 2013. After competing at the pinnacle of motorsport racing, Webber moved to the World Endurance Championship where he amassed seven wins to his name, three of which happened this year. Last year, Webber, with the help of Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley, won the World Drivers’ Champion and finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“I have arrived where I belong,” stated Mark Webber. “Porsche is the brand I always loved most and the one that suits me the best.”
