Motor Trend takes a look at a very special Shelby GT350 at Pebble Beach – Video

One of the classes at the 65th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Shelby GT350.

The Shelby GT350 was the result of a unique collaboration between the Ford Motoring Company and Carroll Shelby.

 

Starting in 1965 in a factory in Southern California, Shelby took semi-compleeted Mustangs and boosted them from 271 to 306 horsepower, mated that to a close ratio transmission from his Cobra, and added heavy duty suspension parts and a fiberglass hood.

The Shelby GT350 featured in this video is a great barn find that was originally sold by Galpin Ford and has made its way back to the dealership. In this video Motor Trend’s Angus MacKenzie stops by Galpin Ford to admire this rare example of an untouched original.
