Ken Block Crashes The 845HP AWD Mustang Hoonicorn – Video
When normal people talk about their driving experience, the mileage they mention refers to the actual distance they’ve covered over the years. However, for guys like Ken Block, the odometer has to do more with sideways shenanigans than with standard driving. However, the drifting man’s experience doesn’t mean he can escape errors.
Ken Block’s latest adventure saw the DC Shoes owner manhandling his Mustang RTR Hoonicorn earlier today at the Gymkhana Grid Final, but the start wasn’t exactly a fortunate one.
As you’ll be able to see in the footage below, Block crashed his ‘Stang, hitting the plastic protection barriers on the side of the improvised course.
As we said, the slip angle player got things wrong on his first run. It all looks like a random mistake, one that a professional drifter like Block was not expected to make.
Nevertheless, there’s a second video on this topic, which we’ve placed at the bottom of the page. This one allows us to evaluate the damage sustained by the Mustang RTR.
Fortunately, the consequences are minor, so Block will be able to keep sliding his Ford without too many worries. Then again, we have to remind you Block’s retro Blue Oval adventures have taken him down a new road lately, with the driver also using a beefed-up Escort, one that seems to bring a breath of fresh air to Block’s stable.
Returning to the man’s pony, we’ll remind you that we are talking about one special machine here. While the vehicle started out its life as a 1965 Mustang, it has gone through a comprehensive restomod process. And the result is one that brings impressive figures, such as 850 hp being sent to all four wheels.
The Gymkhana Grid Series is a battle that sees participants duking it out at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire, UK.
