Drag Race – 900hp Porsche 991 Turbo S vs Hypercars Pagani Zonda and Bugatti – Video

Drag Race – 900hp Porsche 991 Turbo S vs Hypercars Pagani Zonda and Bugatti – Video

The Porsche Gods in Zuffenhausen intended the 911 Turbo S to take on the world using 560 hp. And after having spent some time with the rear-engined supercar, we had to agree with their balanced decision. However, not all 911 Turbo S owners think this way, which is how we end up with examples such as the one in the clip below, which packs no less than 900 hp.

With such monstrous upgrades, you can expect results that are just as extreme, such as this Neunelfer going head to head with a Pagani Zonda.

However, the trick that impressed us the most has to do with the Porsche’s launch control moves. Watch the footage below closely and you’ll notice this Porsche almost pulls a wheelie as it sets off.

We already knew the 911 Turbo S has an aggressive all-wheel-drive system that sends plenty of power to the rear wheels, but seeing the coupe almost impersonating a motorcyle makes for a pleasant way to pass the time.

While we’re at it, we wanted to show you what an actual Porsche 911 wheelie looks like, so we added a second video below. This brings us a 996 911 GT2 that also delivers 900 hp. Among others, the Porsche uses its power to pull a 60 ft. (18 m) wheelie.

However, there’s a big difference between the setup of the two Porsche. While the 991 uses street tires and runs on what is probably the non-prepped surface of an airfield, the 996 comes with drag radials, playing on a drag strip. These two factors can make a world of a difference in terms of grip, so we’d love to see the newer 911 switching to a racing setup like the GT2.

And while the Turbo S may have left the Zonda behind in their two-mile race (the distance also includes the braking phase), the Italian machine still dominated the aural side of the battle.
