New 2026 Honda Passport is Off-Road Capable

New 2026 Honda Passport is Off-Road Capable

Honda is gearing up for the big reveal of its newly redesigned Passport and Passport Trailsport, expected to make their debut later this year. This sneak peek showcases the Trailsport’s rugged exterior, hidden under camouflage, and highlights its off-road prowess. Honda is calling this their “most adventure-ready and capable Honda sport utility vehicle yet,” which is exactly what the Passport needs to stand out. While we will have to wait for the full details, Honda has shared a few key insights. The Passport will be powered by a robust 3.5-liter V-6 engine, likely carried over from the current model. However, fans are hoping for a power boost from the 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque currently offered. An exciting upgrade for the Trailsport will be the transmission. A teaser video revealed a durable 10-speed automatic gearbox, an upgrade from the existing nine-speed transmission. It is unclear if this new transmission will be exclusive to the Trailsport or across the entire Passport lineup. The next-generation model will also include Honda’s improved I-VTM4 Torque-Vectoring all-wheel drive system, ensuring excellent performance across challenging terrains. Expect a boxier design and modernized interior when the 2026 Passport and Passport Trailsport launch next year.
