2025 Nissan Kicks Revealed With All-Wheel Drive

Nissan just unveiled the brand-new 2025 Kicks, and it’s catching everyone’s attention, not just because it looks great but also due to its innovative unveiling at a Brooklyn event during the first games of the 2024 NCAA® Men’s Basketball Tournament. This launch wasn’t just any event; it was an engaging interactive experience right in the heart of Barclays Center.

The most noticeable change is the disappearance of Nissan’s familiar V-Motion grille. If you were looking for any nods to the V-Motion design in their announcement, you’d find none. Yet, if you take a moment to examine the front of the new Kicks, hints of the old design peek through. The front grille features slanted openings that converge into a prominent ridge, setting the stage for a modern, boxy aesthetic that stretches all the way to the back, highlighted by a high and straight beltline.

Around the rear, Nissan continues with its distinctive floating roof design, offering it in a two-tone color scheme. The iconic Kicks “kink” in the pillar is preserved, leading to a rear gate that’s a bit smoother and less angular, with tall, vertical taillights positioned at the upper corners. This new look marks a significant departure from the previous Kicks models, presenting a bulkier and more robust stance.

But the changes to the Kicks aren’t just about looks. Nissan has made the 2025 Kicks bigger, though they haven’t shared the specific dimensions just yet. Inside, the SUV promises more space, which is always a plus. But what might catch your eye even more is the tech upgrade inside. The dashboard is home to two display screens, transforming the driver’s dashboard into a digital command center. The main infotainment screen can be as large as 12.3 inches, with a standard 7-inch screen also included. This system is your gateway to a suite of tech features, like the optional 360-degree camera views and a top-notch Bose 10-speaker sound system. Plus, you won’t need any cords for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto; it’s all wireless.

Under the hood, the Kicks comes equipped with a new 2.0-liter engine that produces 141 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. For the first time, Nissan offers an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system for the Kicks, complete with a snow mode for better handling on slick roads.

Driving safety isn’t left out, either. The Kicks includes Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 System as standard, featuring automatic emergency braking, alerts for rear cross-traffic and automatic rear braking, and lane departure warnings. Opt for the SR trim, and you get the addition of ProPilot, which brings steering assistance into the mix, a first for the Kicks.
