Spy Photos Mercedes AMG GT3 Road Car
Mercedes is planning to compete with track going road performance cars produced by other manufacturers, such as the Porsche 991 GT3 and the recently renamed Aston Martin Vantage GT12. With the first teaser images released last month, spy photos are starting to emerge of the testing mule for Mercedes new track focused GT3 road car.
It’s not entirely known what Mercedes will call the this car and after the Aston Martin – Porsche battle over the GT3 branding, it is doubtful that this will be called the MercedesAMG GT3. Mercedes has also confirmed that it will not receive the branding of the Mercedes Black Series range.
The 4.0L twin turbo V8 motor in the standard AMG GT is said to be the same engine, but tweaked by Mercedes-AMG engineers to produce at least 50BHP more than the Mercedes AMG GT S, which already produces 503 horsepower. Weight is also expected to be reduced further, dropping by anything up to 100KG. All of this will help decrease the 0-60MPH time of the Mercedes AMG GT which is already at 3.7 seconds. The price of this mental road going, track vehicle is estimated to come in at £135,000.
