Porsche 991 GT3 with no wing
One of the most important defining features of a GT3 Porsche is the large wing at the back. But there is a new trend going on in which the owner opt for deleting that wing, turning their Porsche 991 GT3 into something that can only be described as a Carrera with a bad genetic mutation.
Of course, it would have been alright and a wingless Porsche 991 GT3 would have looked liked a normal 911 were it not for that special engine cover the GT3 sports. The protruding hood with its large openings is there to keep the car’s weapon’s grade engine cool and preventing from catching fire again. But it’s a bit unsightly and one of the main purposes of the car’s wing is to cover up this but of bad styling.
Still, you better get used to the looks of the wingless Porsche 991 GT3 because if the recent reports are to believed, soon we are going to get a Porsche 911 R which, to all intents and purposes, is a lighter, more hard-core GT3 without the aero kit. That is going to look fairly similar to what you see here, but hopefully it will get a different engine cover and a lovely ducktail spoiler.
