BMW M2 in Sapphire Black Color
The BMW M2 Coupe is making a comeback in a series of live shots showing the Sapphire Black version.
Bavaria’s latest high-performance coupe is available in just four exterior paint schemes: Long Beach Blue, Alpine White, Mineral Grey and Black Sapphire. The first one appeared initially on the X5 M and now it has been designated as the launch color, but those looking for a more sinister look will likely go for this Black Sapphire hue which probably in some higher quality images looks even better.
Regardless of the body’s paint, the interior cabin is offered exclusively with a black Dakota leather with blue stitching and embossed “M” logos. Added into the mix is a dash of Alcantara on the brake lever and door panels while the carbon fiber trim is a nice touch.
That being said, many people won’t be interested in this as the BMW M2 Coupe is all about power and speed which is guaranteed by a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo with 365 bhp (268 kW) and 343 lb-ft (464 Nm) of torque. There’s also an overboost function which for a limited amount of time bumps the torque amount to 369 lb-ft (499 Nm). With the six-speed manual, the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run takes 4.4 seconds, but those who pay more for the seven-speed M DCT will be able to complete the sprint in just 4.2 seconds. Regardless of gearbox, top speed is electronically capped at 155 mph (250 km/h).
The looks, performance and power should make the M2 a worthy successor of the beloved 1-Series M Coupe. We will know that for sure in the next few months once the reviews will come out.
