Well, that’s it. Mitsubishi has revealed the Evo Final Edition. With no successor planned, the Subaru WRX STI, which we also adore, has the entire street legal rally car-inspired market to itself.

The guys at Subaru are probably beyond pleased. But then again, having that Evo vs. WRX STI battle benefited both brands; it forced them to make their respective models to be as awesome as possible.

Competition will do that. No, we’re not suggesting the WRX will somehow lose its street cred now or in the future.

But the fact that it pretty much owns the segment still doesn’t sit well with us. We like comparisons.

We like head-to-head matchups. It’s part of the fun. And now Jason Fenske over at Engineering Explained has done what may be the very last Evo-WRX STI comparison test, with a pair of 2015 and 2016 models respectively.
