2080HP Arash AF10 hybrid hypercar
Arash is one of Britain’s many boutique automakers, but one you may not be all that familiar with. With a 2,080-horsepower version of the AF10 to display at the Geneva Motor Show, the obscure company may get a bit more recognition. Arash claims that its hypercar accelerates to 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds and continues on to a top speed in excess of 201 mph.
The AF10 relies on a hybrid powertrain to produce such output. A 6.2-liter supercharged V8 sits behind the driver and makes 900 hp. Four electric motors – two on the front axle and two at the rear – add a total of 1,180 hp, and they have a 32-kWh lithium-ion battery for energy. Total torque from the whole layout is an equally astounding 1,682 pound-feet. To get so much power to the road, the AF10 packs five gearboxes: customers can choose between a six-speed manual or paddle-shift automatic for the V8, and each electric motor has its own two-speed unit.
