2026 Volvo EX30 Cross Country The Ultimate Compact Electric SUV for Adventurers

What if you could have a small electric crossover that blends everyday practicality with just enough ruggedness to explore beyond the city streets? Volvo is answering that question with the new EX30 Cross Country, a more adventure-ready version of its best-selling electric sport utility vehicle.

The EX30 has already made a name for itself, selling 98,100 units in 2024 alone. Now, Volvo is giving it a tougher look and a few off-road enhancements while maintaining its electric efficiency. This Cross Country variant comes standard with all-wheel drive, a lifted suspension, and all-terrain tires. However, it is not a hardcore off-roader. Instead, it is designed for drivers who want the ability to handle rougher terrain without sacrificing daily usability.

To set it apart, Volvo added black protective cladding, new skid plates, and exclusive 18-inch wheels wrapped in chunkier tires. The suspension has been raised by 0.7 inches, and the rear setup features softer spring rates and revised damper settings to improve comfort on uneven surfaces. These changes make it more capable of tackling light trails and gravel roads while keeping the same refined ride for city commutes.

Performance remains impressive, with dual electric motors producing 422 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. It uses a 69-kilowatt-hour battery pack with a usable capacity of 64 kilowatt-hours, delivering an estimated 265-mile range on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure cycle. The official Environmental Protection Agency rating is not available yet, but it may be slightly lower than the standard EX30, which reaches 253 miles. When it is time to recharge, direct current fast charging can replenish the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 26 minutes.

The EX30 Cross Country is coming to the United States, and while pricing details are still unknown, it will likely cost more than the standard version, which starts at $46,195.
