2024 Ram 1500 REV Electric Truck Revealed in Production Form
The highly anticipated Ram 1500 REV electric pickup truck has finally arrived, but with a distinct difference from its concept model which made headlines last month. Unlike the bold and futuristic look of the concept truck, the production version of the REV bears an uncanny resemblance to its gas-powered counterpart, with the only noticeable changes being the futuristic headlights, taillights and unique wheel designs.
Although the exterior shape of the 1500 REV remains unchanged with its crew-cab body and short bed design, its inner workings are vastly different. The REV boasts a new purpose-built platform known as the STLA Frame, specifically designed for body-on-frame electric vehicles. Furthermore, Ram has confirmed the availability of a range-extender version equipped with a gasoline engine. While the production model may not feature the more eccentric elements of the concept truck, such as its third-row jump seats, it does have a front trunk (or “frunk”).
Ram created a buzz during this year’s Super Bowl commercial by officially unveiling the 1500 REV and has since opened a website, RamREV.com, for customers to reserve their spot in line. Placing a refundable $100 deposit grants access to the REV Insider+ membership program and will provide early access to information regarding the electric truck’s specifications, including power output, battery size, and estimated range.
The wait for the Ram 1500 REV won’t be long as production is set to commence next year. Until then, fans and prospective buyers will have ample time to familiarize themselves with the electric truck’s features before its official release in 2024.
