2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic
The Porsche 911 Sport Classic is a limited edition collector’s item from the German automaker’s Heritage Design strategy. The Sport Classic, with only 1,250 examples to be produced, takes inspiration from the 1960s and early 1970s with design elements from the original 911 and the 1972 Carrera RS 2.7. Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization and Classic, says the Heritage Design models embody the most emotionally driven concepts of Porsche’s product strategy. The Style Porsche design department is working with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to revive iconic 911 models and equipment from the 1950s to the 1980s.
The Sport Classic features a wide body, a fixed rear spoiler, and a double-bubble roof, all reminiscent of the legendary Carrera RS 2.7. The exclusive Sport Grey Metallic paintwork is inspired by the early Porsche 356 Fashion Grey paint. Alternatives include solid Black, Agategreymetallic, Gentian Blue Metallic or Paint to Sample. The interior features the iconic Pepita pattern on door panels and seat centers and two-tone semi-aniline leather upholstery in Black/Classic Cognac.
The Sport Classic is powered by the 911 Turbo’s 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged engine, detuned to 543 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed manual transmission. The suspension, based on the 911 Turbo and GTS models, features Porsche Active Suspension Management and sports suspension for high performance and a 10-millimeter-lower ride height. A chronograph created by Porsche Design is available exclusively for buyers of the Sport Classic, and selected interior elements of the Sport Classic will also be available for most current 911 models.
