The 5 series now features active kidney grille slats for the radiator which opens moveable slats behind the vertical, fixed kidney grille slats and lower air intakes when more cooling air is required but otherwise keeps them closed to optimize aerodynamic efficiency, The Air Curtains in the front apron team up with Air Breathers to cut air turbulence in the wheel arches significantly and channel the air effectively as the car pushes through it.
