Zenvo ST1 supercar catches fire at an event in Denmark
Once again a Zenvo ST1 supercar catches fire this time at an event in Denmark. if you recall there was another one that caught fire on Top Gear show when they were doing the review.
Let us explain the Top Gear incident. When the Danish brand Zenvo is mentioned among Car lovers, most of you automatically link it to Top Gear’s review of the Zenvo ST1 supercar released sometime last year. A review that didn’t really go as expected, as the name Zenvo got pretty much linked with the Danish supercar being a fire pron machine.
During the filming early last year, the vehicler’s clutch gave in and the ST1 eventually was in engulfed into flames and got burnt on the show. That was back in 2014 and believe it or not, the same thing happened again today. The Zenvo ST1 just caught fire again at a huge, public event in the capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen shown in the pictures below. We also know why it caught fire again this time.
According to sources at Zenvo Automotive themselves, the fire didn’t happen due to clutch problems this time as previously reported. The preliminary inspections shows that the ST1 caught fire due to a faulty fuel line, with a full inspection still to come in the following weeks. The photos were shared by Danish car magazine, Bilsektionen.dk and on Twitter by @_Dok2r.
Also, the white Zenvo ST1 that caught fire is quite a special car as it’s the Danish automaker’s development vehicle. This basically means that this is the exact vehicle on which they’d like to find the defects on.
To wrap things up, the car caught fire due to a faulty fuel line which most certainly isn’t related to the previous clutch overheating problems in any way.
The name of this event was “Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix” and is one of the largest events in Denmark, bringing both the Danish Touring Championship and many other championships to a gathering in the country’s biggest city.
