VW plans to give the Segway something to cry about.

VW builds everything from cars to trucks and in its vast portfolio we can find manufacturers like other branches like Audi, Seat, Skoda, Lamborghini, Bentley, Ducati, Scania, MAN and Bugatti.

Even so, there was no mention of an electric scooter. Until now…

We all already know how important and indispensable an EV surfer can be to an automobile company and that’s why Martin Winterkorn – VW CEO – revealed in an interview with German newspaper “Bild” that VW is looking forward to launch such a vehicle by the second half of 2016.

It will serve as a “last-mile surfer” to go only short distances from the parking lot to the actual destination point or a low millage commuter. It will be fold-able so it would fit and be re-charged in the trunk of an average VW, it will weigh approximately 24 pounds (10 Kg) and it will have an electric range of a nice 12.4 miles (20 Kilometers). All this for less than 1000 dollars.
