According to the Telegraph, Reid got the gig by sending a 30 second audition tape to the BBC, which managed to blew away Chris Evans. We would love to see that clip.

The 36-year-old is the former Editor-in-Chief of the car and gadget site Recombu who also used to host Sky1’s show Gadget Geeks and do some talking on BBC Radio 5 Live.
