This New Honda Feature Has Cats Running to the Car

Honda has come up with something truly paws-itively brilliant for cat lovers who drive. Imagine turning your usual struggle of getting your cat into the car into a surprisingly calm experience. Now you can, thanks to Honda’s brand-new Catnip Car Seats. These specially developed seats are now available across all models—from the Jazz to the CR-V—and they are changing the game for pet parents everywhere.

Anyone who has tried to get a cat into a car knows the chaos that usually follows. The scratched arms, the desperate meowing, and the dramatic standoff near the carrier—it is all part of the routine. But now, Honda’s latest innovation makes it easier and far more pleasant for both cats and humans. These new seats are infused with a catnip-based foam that gently invites even the most reluctant feline travelers to hop in and stay put.

Once inside, your cat may never want to leave. That might sound like a dream, until you actually have to convince them to get out. The soft, pampering cushions are so inviting, your furry friend might just refuse to budge. But let us be honest—that is a good problem to have compared to the usual road trip drama.

Annie Mal, head of Honda’s Pet Products division, shared, “We have always focused on designing vehicles that are friendly for pets. The Catnip Car Seats prove just how serious we are about that. Our team worked hard to remove the stress from driving with cats, and now trips to the vet or the park can actually be something everyone looks forward to.”

Available starting April first, Catnip Seats come in both cloth and leather, without sacrificing comfort for the human passengers. In fact, they are just as ergonomic and supportive as Honda’s regular seating, only with a hidden bonus for feline companions.

And that is not all—Honda is also planning to introduce even more cat-focused accessories. Coming soon: a gear selector that doubles as a scratching post, an animated fishbowl screen on the dashboard, and a glovebox that dispenses a ball of string. It sounds wild, but it is also kind of genius.
