Street Race – Kawasaki H2 vs Hayabusa – Video
We’ve got another piece of hot action involving a Suzuki Hayabusa and a Kawasaki Ninja H2. Still, not even this drag race delivers any decisive results that can help us make a call as to which of the two beasts is more vicious.
The Hayabusa smokes the supercharged Kawasaki and it also looks like the Suzuki rider is a tad more confident in what he is doing. Some might say that the extra 340cc of the Busa make the battle an uneven showdown, but the 200 hp the force-fed Ninja produces aren’t a joke, either.
The truth is somewhere at the middle, but watching this video closely revealed an interesting thing. The Ninja H2, in its stock trim, is unable to make use of all the power its engine can generate, because the bike wheelies too easily.
And this shows us the edge the Busa has with its stretched swingarm. The Suzuki can accelerate much faster because it will wheelie less, meaning that more power is transferred to the ground. The Kawasaki could very well be even more vile, but the result would have most likely be the same, as the bike would still wheelie.
On the other hand, using traction control and launch control might have cut the power too much for the sake of stability, possibly ending up in an even poorer performance compared to the Busa.
We’re not ready to pass judgement on which one is the fiercest, but in the end, it’s down to who crosses the finish line first. Looking forward to an H2 with a stretched swingarm… such a bike might change dramatically how we all see this particular Ninja on the drag strip, and it will also settle some scores with a lot of other machines.
