Previous generation Mercedes C63 AMG by Carbonfiber Dynamics

If we were to compare the old C63 AMG with a dish, then it would be a pretzel with a couple of sausages and a stake on the side, but Carbonfiber Dynamics lightened the brute to go a little easy on you…and your stomach.

 

With a 451 hp, 6.2-litre V8 at its disposal, the C63 AMG isn’t the kind of car that needs an extra oomph. Moreover, the AMG naturally-aspirated mill needs a little more attention than a chip-tune and a downpipe, in order to significantly boost its performance. So, if power can’t be added, weight must be removed, and following Colin Chapman’s obsession, CFD “simplified and added lightness” to the German bratwurst.

 

 

Nobody but a tuner with the terms “carbon” and “fiber” in its name can make a weight-stripping project seem like a walk in the park, especially if it’s specialized in the fabrication of ultra-lightweight car parts.

 

 

For this particular C63 AMG model – which doesn’t quite appeal to the mainstream tuners anymore, Carbonfiber Dynamics has created a carbon-fiber package, which includes a front lip, a 7 kg (15 lbs) carbon-Kevlar hood – reminiscent of the Black Series – side mirror caps, side sills, a rear diffuser and an “Edition 507”-inspired rear wing for an increased downforce on the rear axle.

A set of 19-inch BBS rims wrapped in Toyo tries, and a Bilstein B16 PSS10 lowered sport-suspension is completing the Merc’s track-inspired styling package, while the Avus-signed satin blue hue wraps everything up. No, really, that’s a wrap.
