Porsche will make PDK transmission GT4
We thought it would never happen but the Porsche Cayman GT4 will soon be offered with an optional PDK available alongside the standard six-speed manual gearbox.
When the highly desirable and hard to obtain Porsche GT4 version of the Porsche Cayman came out earlier this year in Geneva, the Stuttgart-based automaker said it would be available only with a six-speed manual but now they have decided to add the Porsche PDK transmission as an option as well, probably due to strong customer demand. The reveal was made by none other than the company’s GT boss Andreas Preuninger in an interview with a member of the Planet-9 forums.
An official announcement and press release is expected to occur very soon and obviously the Porsche PDK-equipped Cayman GT4 will be a little more more expensive than the manual version as expected which kicks off at €85,779 in Germany and at $84,600 in United States.
During the same interview, Preuninger said there won’t be a more hardcore Porsche GT4 RS version, at least not in this generation.
