Peugeot has revealed the 308 Racing Cup that will be displayed during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Based on the Peugeot 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport, the vehicle is 1,910 mm wide and features a wide body kit with 18-inch wheels.
At the back there’s a huge spoiler, inspired by the WTCC series.
Power is provided by the same potent 1.6-liter turbo petrol unit, found under the hood of the Peugeot 308 GTi. Heavily retuned, this engine provides 308 PS (227 kW), which is 38 PS (28 kW) more than the power of the Peugeot 308 GTi.
It is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters.
The successor for the Peugeot RCZ Racing Cup will weight no more than 1,050 kg and will reach customers in late 2016. It will make its global premiere in Frankfurt, while a dynamic appearance is scheduled for October 24-25 at the Paul Ricard track in France.
