Overfinch 40th anniversary with exclusive Land Rover Defenders
Overfinch marks 40th anniversary with five exclusive Defenders
[London, UK: November 2015] Overfinch has marked its 40th anniversary by unveiling a special edition landmark Defender model.
Just five specially commissioned Overfinch Defenders will be created by the original Land Rover enhancement company.
The vehicle is a double celebration, marking Overfinch’s significant milestone and acknowledgment of Land Rover ending production of the iconic Defender.
Each vehicle will have an individually numbered plaque and include a range of new features that seamlessly fuse contemporary and traditional design together.
The signature Overfinch bonnet and front grille contrasts with the rest of the bodywork.
The front bumper from the SVX model features integrated LED daytime running lights and spot lamps while chequered plating to side sills and rear quarter panels finished in black satin are additional characteristics the special car enjoys.
The fuel cap has been specially machined in aluminium with discreet Overfinch branding and so too the exterior door handles, giving the vehicle a distinct identity.
Other exterior features include a swing away rear arm, a rear step with an electric tow bar, upgraded rear LED lighting and painted mirror backs.
18″ Apollo alloy wheels in a gloss black finish with a diamond turned face deliver a robust and sporting aesthetic.
The external design is completed by Overfinch’s trademark bonnet and tailgate lettering that has been set in polished black chrome with sandblasted inner.
Inside sees a complete Overfinch leather trim package adorning Recaro front seats that have a bespoke 40th crest stitched into the headrest to mark the anniversary.
Rear occasional use folding seats, cubby box lid, passenger grab handle, headliner and the dashboard top also enjoy premium Bridge of Weir ebony leather with Cirrus leather inserts.
Overfinch’s Control Pack sees use of the highest quality leather extended to the gearshift, range selector, handbrake and steering wheel.
Like the fuel cap and door handles, the pedals are also machined out of aluminium.
Additional contemporary touches are provided by sport-style instrument dials, a Bluetooth connected Alpine Double Din satellite navigation, DAB radio and a reversing camera.
Overfinch Chairman, Kevin Sloane, said: “This special edition vehicle offers owners the chance to own a piece of exclusive Overfinch and Defender history.
“The Defender is arguably the world’s most famous car and Overfinch is the global leader in Land Rover enhancements, so it is fitting that the original Land Rover marks our 40th anniversary.
“The five vehicles have been skilfully designed to represent the history of our 40 years and the Defender’s heritage, while offering a contemporary feel with modern features tastefully and subtly integrated into the existing core of the car.”
The vehicles are priced at just over £70,000.
