Orange Aston Martin Vulcan
The good folks at InAutoNews had the chance to take several photos of a stunning Aston Martin Vulcan painted in bright orange.
The car is being exhibited at the Nürburgring test center and as most of you know it is Aston Martin’s solution to recent track-only beasts such as the Ferrari FXX K and the McLaren P1 GTR.
However, unlike those two super cars, the Vulcan is an old-fashioned racer without any sort of electric help as it packs a mighty V12 7.0-liter naturally aspirated engine unleashing in excess of 800 horsepower (596 kW).
An Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission has the difficult task of channeling all that output to the road while the stopping power is provided by performance Brembo’s carbon fiber brakes featuring F1-derived technology and teamed up with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers in the back.
As you would already know from such a beast, the Aston Martin Vulcan has some amazing performances as it needs less than 3 seconds to reach the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint and will top out at more than 200 mph (322 km/h).
Aston Martin’s “most intense and exhilarating creation to date” will be limited to 24 units, with each vehicle carrying a staggering price tag of £1.8 million (about $2.8 million / €2.5 million).
