Motor Trend – First Look At Bugatti Chiron – Video

 

Sn exclusive first look at Bugatti’s long awaited follow-up to the, Veyron, the 1500-hp Chiron. Motor Trend goes deep on the successor to what was the world’s fastest production car with fascinating interviews with Bugatti president Wolfgang Durheimer, head of engineering Willi Netuschil and head of design Achim Anscheidt.

Bugatti Chiron Specs:

It has 1500 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque from an 8.0 liter, quad-turbocharged W16 with something Bugatti calls “2-stage turbocharging.” It’s all-wheel drive with a seven-speed DSG, but there’s no word on a hybrid powertrain like we were expecting it may have.

The biggest news is that the top speed is limited to just 261 mph, which is six mph less than the Veyron Super Sport could achieve. Perhaps the Chiron can go the rumored 288 with the limited disengaged. We’ll know more about the Chiron shortly.
