Motor Trend’s Jason Cammisa examines Range Rover’s first performance SVR model. It was tuned on the Green Hell Nürburgring, where Land Rover says it’ll do an incredible lap in 8 minutes, 14 seconds. That’s sports-car perfeormance numbers — within 10 seconds of the lightweight Alfa Romeo 4C. It’s got the right ingredients for speed and that is for sure— a 550 horsepower supercharged V-8, magnetic shock absorbers, air springs, and hydraulic anti-roll bars, and aluminum construction. The question remains, has anyone ever asked for a track-focused off-roader?
