More affordable Tesla Model 3 will be quicker than BMW M3
It seems like Tesla always does new things to stay in the news. Last week we were salivating over the announcement of the crazy “Ludicrous Mode” and now there’s news about the company’s entry-level Electric Vehicle, the Tesla Model 3. Autocar is reporting that Tesla won’t be revealing its newest model at one of the world’s biggest car shows, which is the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Instead, the company will throw its own event later in the same month (March 2016). Tesla apparently wants all the attention on its Tesla Model 3 and that’s just not possible at the huge Geneva Motor Show.
Autocar is also revealed that the Tesla Model 3 could get to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, which puts it right there with the 2015 BMW M3/M4. It will be built on a custom platform and could have a range of up to an impressive 300 miles. The custom platform could prove interesting down the road as apparently Tesla is designing it to fit a bunch of different body styles you could choose from, which means a range of Tesla Model 3s could be available. We here at DPCcars would like a wagon with Ludicrous Mode but will settle for a sedan with Insane Mode if we have to.
