Mitsubishi Owners’ Day 2015 Brought Out Some Awesome Mitsubishi Evo’s – Video
This year July 11 was the annual Mitsubishi Owners’ Day (MOD) at the automaker’s US headquarters in sunny Cypress, California.
Thousands of Mitsubishi owners mostly Evo’s, heavily modified Evolutions, show up to put on their tricked out rides and party.
Besides partying all night and showing off their vehicles, an experianced panel of judges and the crowd in attendance are in charge of picking out the world’s best Mitsubishi Evos.
According to Mitsubishi’s Vice President of producing planning, Bryan Arnett, Mitsubishi’s in attendance were judged on “the aesthetics and the paint on the exteriors, the upholstery and gauges on the interiors, but mostly the engine bay.”
The winners of this years MOD were Rowie Landicho’s Mitsubishi Evo X (seen in red), which was the judges’ choice, and Lev Castillo’s 2008 Mitsubishi Evo X (in dark grey) that won the Peoples’ Choice award.
The white Mitsubishi Evo pictured below received an honorable mention. Interestingly enough, both Landicho and Castillo belong to Team Emperor Motorsports, which is a club with members from California and the Philippines.
With Mitsubishi deciding to focus on plug-in hybrid vehicles, the tenth annual MOD was an excellent way to say goodbye to one of the greatest performance cars ever produced.
What do you think? Are these Evos worthy of the “Best Evos Ever” title?
