Live Photos – BMW M4 GTS and 3.0 CSL Hommage R concepts
While the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R concept is just for show only, the BMW M4 GTS concept is actually a hint of what’s to come as it will morph into a production very soon and will keep the very interesting water injection system.
Those eye-catching OLED taillights could also be part of the new generation in the road-going car which compared to the regular BMW M4 is expected to take off 100 kg (220 lbs) and lose its rear seats.
BMW isn’t saying how much horsepower the 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo engine is now making, but rumors say the production car will pack around a respectful 500 PS (368 kW) which will make it substantially more powerful than the stock BMW M4 Coupe which has 431 PS (317 kW).
Apparently there will be some changes in terms of equipment between the European- and US-spec models due to stricter laws in United States, so the European version is expected to pack more of the fun stuff.
As for the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R , it’s essentially a race specific derivative of the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage revealed a few months ago at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
As the name suggests, it pays homage to special BMW’s from the past, including the iconic 1970 BMW 3.0 CSL racecar which is actually in the photos of the new press release sitting alongside its modern equivalent.
