Goodwood Record For The VW ID R Pikes Peak – Video

The next record for the ID R Pikes Peak is in the bag. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Romain Dumas (F) set a new electric record in 43.86 seconds in Volkswagen’s first all-electric race car.

 

 

Just three weeks into the record race at the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Dumas boosted the record for electric racing cars in 2013 by 3.48 seconds at the Goodwood Hill Climb. The all-time record continues to hold Nick Heidfeld (D). In 1999, the former Formula 1 driver mastered the only 1.86 km long track with a McLaren-Mercedes MP4 / 13 from Formula 1 in 41.6 seconds.
