Ferrari 488 GTB Launch At Newport Beach
A welcoming event organized last week introduced the successor of the Ferrari 458 Italia with open arms. Ferrari invested quite a lot into the development of this twin-turbo supercar.
Very little is shared with the Ferrari 458, while the 100 horsepower increase was achieved despite the use of a smaller displacement engine.
As much as we like seeing the Ferrari 458 Speciale, the hot models dressed in red where a nice eye candy also.
The Ferrari 488 GTB features a 3.9-liter engine delivering 670 PS at 8,000rpm and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs just 1,470 kilograms and can reach 100 km/h in 3 seconds. Knowing its customers are now just as interested in straight line performance, Ferrari gave the 488 GTB a top speed of 330 km/h while somehow magically lowering fuel economy.
A lot of time was spent in the wind tunnel, developing the “blown” rear spoiler, double front spoiler, rear active aerodynamics and base bleed intake. Downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h) is up by 50% compared to the old car.
Now we have to wait and see whcih celebrity will buy this awesome machine first.
