Crash – Rare Audi R8 GT vs Volkswagen Golf 5 GTI

The very rare limited-run Audi R8 GT had an unfortunate incidents with a fifth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI.

Back in August last year, we saw an Audi R8 GT Coupe running a red light and hitting a Range Rover Evoque SUV in an intersection in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Coincidentally, another Audi R8 GT also from Johannesburg has now rear-ended a VW Golf V GTI, but thankfully the outcome of the impact was significantly less destructive.

This Audi R8 GT is one of the 333 units ever made and as you can see the owner decided to apply some red accents to make it stand out even more.

The damage doesn’t looks to the surface only, but with a vehicle like this, the repair bill will likely be  gigantic.

As for the compact hot hatch Volkswagen, this will only need a rear bumper replacement as the rest of the vehicle appears to be intact.

We remind you Audi also built only 333 units of the Audi R8 GT Spyder and one of the super car s was stolen in November last year from high-end car dealer Pegasus in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
