Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May brainstorm a name for their new Amazon Prime show coming in Autumn 2016. Turns out naming a TV Show is harder than it looks.

In July 2015, it was announced that former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, along with their producer Andy Wilman, had agreed to make a new motoring TV series for Amazon Video. The initial agreement was for 36 episodes over three years, scheduled to be released to Amazon Prime’s online customers starting in late 2016. The intended format was for individual television films, using location shooting without television studio segments. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos described the deal as being “very, very, very expensive”. W. Chump & Sons is the production company for the programme.

There was speculation that the show could be called Gear Knobs after a trademark application was made for that name by an associated company, but Clarkson stated in October 2015 that this would not be the title.
