Christian Bale To Play Enzo Ferrari In Movie
Beginning of the year there was some talk that actor Robert DeNiro would play legendary Enzo Ferrari in a high-budget biopic. Now Deadline has posted that Christian Bale has been cast to play the iconic Ferrari founder in a movie directed by Michael Mann. Christian Bale is best known as the previous Batman but is an accomplished actor with an Academy Award (best supporting actor, “The Fighter”) to his name. Michael Mann, director of such amazing classics as “Heat” and “The Last of the Mohicans” will be directing behind the camera. The movie will be set in the year 1957 when Enzo Ferrari was 59 years old.
But what happened to Robert DeNiro taking on the role? Deadline has no information on that but it’s quite plausible the two actors will be in the same movie. The Christian Bale and Michael Mann picture takes place in the year 1957 and is based off of Brock Yates’ 1991 book “Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, and the Races.” The Robert DeNiro movie was said to take place from 1945 to the 1980s (Ferrari died in 1988) and was said to be based on the same the exact book. The fact that the source material is the same means these two amazing actors could very well both portray Enzo Ferrari at different stages in his life. Or the two films could compete in a high-budget box office slugfest. Either way, Ferrari lovers win.
