BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition by TVW Car Design
German performance tuner TVW Car Design has released an upgraded version of the M4 DTM Champion Edition.
It was October 2014 when BMW decided to celebrate Marco Wittmann’s triumph in the 2014 DTM season by launching a special edition BMW M4 Coupe limited to only 23 units as a connection to the #23 number on the winning car.
Now, TVW Car Design has decided to work on the vehicle and first they removed the black 19-inch wheels and replaced them with a lighter set of BBS one-piece forged alloys wrapped around in 255/30 ZR20 front and 285/30 ZR20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport UHP tires.
The next thing they did was to install a KW Clubsport adjustable coil-over suspension along with an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system with carbon fiber tips housed within the rear diffuser made from the same lightweight yet very hard material.
The custom performance exhaust is 10 kg (22 lbs) lighter than the standard unit and also bumps output by 17 horsepower & 17 Nm.
They also did some work on the inline-six high-revving TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter engine and after tuning the ECU and installing a new K&N air filter they boosted output to 517 horsepower and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft), up from the series 431 horsepower (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).
Details about the vehicless performances have not been released, but it is definitely faster than the standard BMW M4 Coupe which runs the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.3 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual and in 4.1 seconds with the optional 7-speed DCT.
