2018 Lexus LC500 and 500h – Video
The 2018 Lexus LC500 design successfully brings together the virtues of a long-wheelbase four-door saloon with a low coupe-like profile, positioning the LS perfectly across two (saloon and coupe) growing market segments.
The cabin has benefited from an equally new approach, focusing on “progressive comfort,” interpreting Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship traditions in the context of an advanced, luxurious and innovative vehicle interior.
Sharply angled sheetmetal and a massively meshed grille hint at a serious performance car, and the LC delivers. The LC is heavily enhanced with carbon fiber and high-strength steel; Lexus says it has the highest torsional stiffness of any of its models to date. Under the hood beats a 471-hp 5.0-liter V-8 driving the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. Steering and brakes are excellent but cannot entirely hide the LC’s 4400 pounds. A hybrid with 354 hp is also offered.
