540WHP Stroker LS3 Swapped 3rd Gen 1995 Mazda RX-7
This particular FS: 1995 Mazda RX-7 has had its production turbocharged rotary replaced for a built LS3 that’s supposed to be good for a seriously respectable 540 RWHP–on 91 octane and in super hot weather. Overall the Japanese sports car both looks and sounds to be very well put built, however a few issues such as an air conditioning leak and randomly to overheat on very hot days in heavy stop and go traffic will need mechanical attention. The car is listed for sale in California for $35k.
Unfortunately there is only one engine picture posted. Stroked to a massive 427ci and modified with a slew long list of modifications, the seller says that the repainted body is nice but not perfect and also mentions a leaky air-conditioning system as well as a too lumpy of the cam for the street as things that will need attention. They also posted that the vehicle runs great under most conditions, even over long highway drives, but add that in 110 degree heat and traffic it will start to overheat.
We’re big Rotary fans, and these third generation Mazda RX7’s are easily our favorite Mazda RX-7’s– out there, we’ve never been able to develop any hate for a well-converted car, and though this one needs a little tender loving care to be sorted we think it’s worth a look .
