419 horsepower Ferguson Tractor sure looks like fun – Video
What you’re about to see isn’t real, but it is very entertaining.
If you think this video is about modified tractors, skillful farmers or gymkhana, you’re wrong. It’s about apples. Well, actually it’s an ad for the largest German supermarket corporation, but we’re more interested in the tractor.
You see, in order for the products to get fast and fresh to the store (supermarket), they need to be delivered by a 1945 Ferguson tractor with 425 PS (that’s 419 horsepower), one crate at a time – apparently. In fact, everybody knows that hardcore-shipped apples are the best kind of apples out there, and nobody – and I mean nobody – can carry them better than Georg Bauer and his ultra-high-powered, wheelie-making, drifting off-road tractor.
Joking aside, the video obviously makes an inside joke to Georg Pawer (Bauer, in modern German – which actually means farmer), who was considered to be the founder of geology. Anyway, the idea with the tractor was most likely taken from the actual Swedish-built turbo tractor, powered by a 225 hp Volvo 940 powerplant – which broke the internet a while back.
