Tuners see great potential in upgrading the turbocharged straight-six engine that powers the M3 and M4 models and it’s no wonder B&B is taking a stab at squeezing more power. Its first stage kit costs €1,798 and bumps output of the 3.0-liter motor to 490 horsepower, but you can upgrade to the stage two kit available for €2,950 which lifts power to 540 hp.

The significant increase is achieved by modifying the turbochargers, installing a higher-flow intake tract, and mounting bigger exhaust downpipes. In addition, the tuner will also revise the engine’s ECU and mount a more efficient charge air cooler.

If you still need more power, the stage 3 kit will dial the engine to no less than 580 hp and 553 pound-feet (750 Nm) of torque enabling the M4 to hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a standstill in 3.5 seconds. The time necessary to hit 124 mph (200 kph) is reduced to just 11.2 seconds and the 155-mph top speed limiter is eliminated to enable a maximum velocity of more than 205 mph (330 kph).
