2024 Renault 5 E Tech EV Production Version Leaked!

2024 Renault 5 E Tech EV Production Version Leaked!

The 2024 Renault 5, an eagerly anticipated electric hatchback, is making waves with its design and features ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show on February 26, 2024. Leaked patent images reveal a design that stays true to the original 2021 retro concept, showcasing key elements like crescent-shaped LED headlights, a prominent charging indicator on the bonnet, and a sporty look emphasized by flared rear wheel arches and vertically stacked 3D LED tail-lights with a full-width light bar. The car features a stretched pillbox-wide air intake, side air curtain intakes, and square fake fog lamps with daytime running lamps. The rear door handles are ingeniously hidden within the C-pillars, and there are charging ports on both the left and right front fenders. The design also includes red accents along the gutter and rear tailgate spoiler, highlighting its sporty nature, and offers a two-tone paint scheme with a black roof option. Under the hood, the Renault 5 will be based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s CMF-B EV architecture, which is 30% cheaper to build compared to the Renault ZOE. The car will be equipped with a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension, aiming to set new standards in handling for the EV hatch segment. The Renault 5 will come with a 52kWh battery, offering a range of up to 400km. Additionally, a 40kWh battery option will be available for the base model. The most basic version will feature a single 100kW electric motor driving the front wheels, with more powerful versions, including a 160kW electric motor, expected later. The car also introduces bidirectional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging technology. Priced around €25,000, the 2024 Renault 5 is not just a revival of a classic name but also a promising entry into the electric vehicle market, combining retro charm with modern EV technology.
