2018 Nissan & Nismo Vehicles Winter Snow Drifting – Video

The Nissan Serena NISMO goes on sale today in Japan, combining NISMO’s performance, driving pleasure and styling with the popular minivan’s family-friendly, utilitarian nature.

The new model offers even more car lovers the opportunity to experience the appeal of the NISMO brand. It’s the latest addition to the NISMO road car series, which began with the Nissan Juke NISMO in 2013. The series has since expanded with the addition of the Nissan March NISMO, Nissan Note NISMO, Nissan Fairlady Z NISMO and Nissan GT-R NISMO models.

Nissan has spared no effort in fully incorporating NISMO technology into the Serena, which went through a full model upgrade in August 2016. The result is the Serena NISMO, realizing powerful styling and exhilarating driving without compromising the convenience and comfort that allow the entire family to enjoy long drives.

The Serena NISMO offers strong stability and comfortable handling for worry-free driving, even at high speeds. This is achieved through the custom-made reinforced body and suspension tuning. In addition, the custom tuning computer and custom sports-tuned muffler result in the exhilarating acceleration for which NISMO is known.

The exterior design features the toughness and style characteristic of the NISMO brand. Specially designed elements in sections such as the front bumper and rear spoiler have significantly improved its aerodynamic performance. Both the interior and exterior feature accents in red, the color of NISMO. The model comes in seven available body colors, including four that are exclusive to the NISMO series.

The Serena features ProPILOT technology, enabling autonomous driving in single-lane traffic on highways. The technology is a key part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s blueprint for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated with society.

The new 2018 LEAF features a 150-mile driving range, aerodynamic exterior, roomy high tech interior and advanced technologies including ProPILOT Assist and e-Pedal. It is the first step in the re-launch of Nissan’s EV platform and will be followed in model year 2019 with a high-power version with increased motor power and battery capacity.

“This new LEAF is not just the latest symbol of Nissan’s global leadership in the EV segment, it is the culmination of everything we’ve learned from more than two billion miles of real life, on-road driving and from the feedback of hundreds of thousands of owners around the world, particularly LEAF customers here in the U.S.,” added Muñoz.

To date, Nissan has sold over 112,000 LEAF EVs in the United States and more than 283,000 globally.

The new LEAF is also the embodiment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, a global initiative that focuses on how Nissan vehicles are driven, powered and integrated into society. Its new ProPILOT Assist (Nissan’s advanced single lane driver assistance technology), helps ease driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions. While it is a “hands-on” system, it previews Nissan’s ongoing development of future leading edge autonomous drive technologies.

The LEAF’s revolutionary e-Pedal technology transforms the driving experience. It lets drivers start, accelerate, decelerate and stop by increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator. When the accelerator is fully released, regenerative and friction brakes are applied automatically, bringing the LEAF to a complete stop. The car holds its position, even on uphill slopes, until the accelerator is pressed again. The reactiveness of e-Pedal helps maximize driving pleasure.

“We believe the new LEAF will be another game changer for Nissan in the U.S., just as the redesigned Rogue has been in the last year and a half, hitting the ‘sweet spot’ in the growing EV segment,” said Muñoz. “It takes everything we’ve learned from our loyal first-generation LEAF owners to the next level.”

Events for experiencing control technology supporting “Nissan Intelligent Mobility” such as e-POWER, Serena NISMO, X-TRAIL, GT-R, Z, Skyline, on a frozen lake and snowy surface, mainly with the new “Nissan Leaf” Was held for media users.

Nissan’s e-POWER electric powertrain technology, which helped make the Nissan Note Japan’s best-selling compact car last year, has won a prestigious Japanese environmental award for its contributions to reducing CO2 emissions.

The Energy Conservation Center Japan (ECCJ), an organization backed by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, awarded e-POWER its Chairman’s Prize as part of the Energy Conservation Grand Prize Awards for fiscal 2017.

Nissan first introduced e-POWER on the Nissan Note in Japan in November 2016. The company is working to launch more electric and e-POWER models globally as part of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision for changing how vehicles are powered, driven and integrated into society. In Japan, Nissan will release a version of the popular Nissan Serena minivan outfitted with e-POWER technology this spring.

The Nissan Note e-POWER is driven by an electric motor that’s powered by a gasoline engine. The 100% electric motor drive system treats drivers to powerful acceleration, quiet operation and exceptional fuel efficiency.

The role of the gasoline engine is strictly to generate electric power. Because this engine always operates at its optimum condition, the Note e-POWER boasts 30% better fuel efficiency than cars powered by conventional gasoline engines with similar output*. The Note e-POWER’s fuel economy rating of 34.0km/L** exceeds 2015 fuel economy standards in Japan by 97%.

The Note’s e-POWER Drive mode allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using only the accelerator pedal. The regenerative brake system also helps improve fuel efficiency by charging the battery.

The Nissan Note e-POWER has proven popular with Japanese customers, posting sales of more than 100,000 vehicles as of October 2017. The Note, including the e-POWER version, was the top-selling compact car in Japan in calendar year 2017.

The ECCJ promotes energy conservation and raises awareness by recognizing programs, products and business models with exceptional energy-saving features. The 2017 Energy Conservation Grand Prize ceremony will take place Feb. 14 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.
