2016 Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet testing on Nurburgring – Video
The Range Rover Evoque Cabriolet has returned to the Nürburgring race track for an intense testing session ahead of 2016 launch.
Land Rover will actually start selling the convertible Evoque next year and to make sure everything will be ready for launch they have to make some final testing.
Seeing the crossover cabriolet SUV being pushed to its last limits on the ‘Ring takes time getting used to, but nowadays it seems just about every type of car sold in Europe has to perform strict testing rounds on the Nordschleife before heading to dealerships showrooms.
Land Rover showed a prototype concept of the Evoque Cabrio back in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show and they will probably use the same event to introduce the production SUV which is being called as the “world’s first premium compact SUV convertible.”
It will look a lot like the heart top three-door version but instead of the fixed metal roof it will feature an electrically retractable soft top along with a redesigned rear end necessary to house the roof when it’s folded.
It will use the same engines as the newly facelifted Range Rover Evoque and will obviously command a serious pricing over its metal-roofed brother.
