2016 Chevrolet Spark Side Crash Test
The Chevrolet Spark was redesigned for the 2016 model year. Two side tests of the Spark were conducted, one by the Institute and the other by General Motors as part of side crash test verification. Ratings are based on both tests, but the vehicle specifications shown below are based on the Institute’s test.
Injury measures
Driver — Measures from the dummies in the two tests, taken together, indicate that rib fractures and/or internal organ injuries would be possible in a crash of this severity. Fractures of the pelvis and left femur would also be possible.
Passenger — Measures from the dummies in the two tests, taken together, indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection
Driver — In both tests, the dummy’s head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
Passenger — In both tests, the dummy’s head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
