The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is finally here, and the successor to the CTS-V is even more capable than we expected. Its 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 makes 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. These power figures puts the BMW M5 CS, Mercedes-AMG E63 S, and Audi RS7 on check. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes come with twin-turbo V-8s. The Mercedes and Audi both displace 4.0 liters, the BMW displaces 4.4 liters. The Audi RS7 makes 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, the Mercedes makes a monstrous 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, while the BMW M5 CS makes 627 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The lighter, more powerful CT5 Blackwing with 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque is going to have a better power-to-weight ratio when compared to the M5, E63 S, and RS7. All three competitors have AWD while the Cadillac is 2WD, Cadillac says although the AWD can make the car accelerate faster from a stand still, it apparently doesn’t make the car any faster on a racetrack.
